A new infographic from attorney Chris Purcell sheds light on the dangers of car accidents in Orange County, California.

Unfortunately the state of California has the 2nd highest number of traffic fatalities of all states in the U.S. Data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) revealed that over 2,700 people lost their lives on California roads and highways in the year 2010.

The infographic takes a closer look at car accidents specifically within Orange County. In 2010, there were over 13,000 auto accidents in Orange County that resulted in injury of some kind. Six percent of these car crashes involved a pedestrian injury. (California state laws give pedestrians the right of way and drivers are responsible to stop or yield at all crosswalks to allow pedestrians to cross the road. Injured pedestrians are frequently children or the elderly, yet another reason to drive safely.) The car wreck infographic also shows that Anaheim and Santa Ana were the O.C. cities with the most auto accidents in 2010. Chris Purcell’s infographic reveals some good news: Orange County fatalities from car accident collisions have decreased by almost half since 2001.
